Article 50 Transparency Pack for AI Startups and Content Agencies
Your users must be told when they're dealing with AI, and AI-generated content you publish must be labelled. We write the disclosures, rules and records you need, based on the Commission's final guidelines and Code of Practice. Fixed price, delivered in 48 hours.
Where things stand
Article 50 has applied since 2 August 2026. It was not delayed by the digital omnibus (that postponed the high-risk rules). It covers companies outside the EU too, if their AI reaches EU users. Fines for Article 50 breaches go up to €15 million or 3% of worldwide turnover, with lower caps for SMEs. The only grace period: generative systems already on the market before 2 August have until 2 December 2026 for machine-readable marking.

What the rules actually require
If you build the AI (provider)
Art. 50(1): systems that interact directly with people must be designed so people know they're dealing with AI, unless that's obvious from context. The "obvious" exception is narrow.
Art. 50(2): AI-generated audio, image, video and text must be marked in a machine-readable, detectable way where technically feasible. That's engineering work. The pack tells you what's expected and by when, but does not implement it.
If you publish with AI (deployer)
Art. 50(4): disclose deepfakes (image, audio or video resembling real people, places or events), with lighter disclosure for evidently artistic, creative, satirical or fictional work.
Disclose AI-generated or manipulated text published to inform the public on matters of public interest, unless it went through human review or editorial control and someone holds editorial responsibility.
For everyone
Art. 50(5): clear and distinguishable, at the latest at the first interaction or exposure, and accessible. Not in the footer or the terms of service.
The Transparency Code of Practice adds internal processes, staff awareness and a way to correct missing labels.
What this is, and isn't
A documentation pack based on the text of Article 50, the Commission's final transparency guidelines and the Transparency Code of Practice. It is not legal advice, and it doesn't replace a lawyer for disputes or high-risk AI systems.
