Plain-language terms for the free tool and Pro subscriptions. By using DisclosureTrail, you agree to these terms.
DisclosureTrail ("we", "us", "the service") is a tool for generating AI-usage disclosure statements. The free tier runs entirely in your browser and requires no account. The Pro tier is a paid subscription that adds saved, searchable statement records, shareable verification links, an AI Contract Clause generator, and an Appeal-Evidence Packet generator.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase a Pro subscription. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter into any disclosure statement — DisclosureTrail is a drafting tool, not a source of truth about what you did or didn't use AI for.
Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, at the price shown at checkout) and processed by our payment partner, Freemius. Your subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund the current billing period unless you're within the guarantee window below. When you cancel, you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for.
If you're not satisfied with Pro within your first 30 days as a subscriber, email hello@disclosuretrail.com and we'll refund your most recent payment in full, no questions asked. This guarantee applies once per customer to a new subscription; it does not apply to renewal charges after the first 30 days.
You keep ownership of everything you enter into DisclosureTrail — client names, project details, notes, and the disclosure statements you generate. We don't claim any rights to it, and we don't use it to train AI models or share it with third parties, beyond what's described in our Privacy Policy. If you're on Pro, you can request deletion of your stored records at any time.
Pro-generated statements include a shareable verification link that lets a third party (a client, platform, or reviewer) confirm the statement's existence and basic details. Treat these links like you would any document you share — anyone with the link can view the verification page. Don't include information in a statement that you wouldn't want visible to whoever you share the link with.
Don't use DisclosureTrail to generate statements you know to be false, to impersonate someone else, or to attempt to break, scrape, or overload the service. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the service or attempt to defraud the payment system.
DisclosureTrail is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee that a disclosure statement generated here will satisfy any particular client, platform, employer, or legal requirement — disclosure obligations vary by jurisdiction, industry, and contract, and this tool is not a substitute for legal advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DisclosureTrail and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We may update these terms or the service itself from time to time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the date below. Continuing to use DisclosureTrail after a change means you accept the updated terms.
